The vast majority of HCPs see pharmaceutical companies continuing to tackle COVID and supporting the NHS

HCPs continue to be positive about the sector’s response to the pandemic. This opinion has also marginally improved since October 2020. Furthermore, HCPs are significantly more likely to trust pharma companies to work together to find solutions, to trust them to make COVID-19 vaccines and medicines available and they are increasingly more positive about the sector.

HCPs increasingly recognise pharmaceutical company’s commitment to tackle COVID-19

Two in five HCPs could spontaneously name a specific action or initiative undertaken by the sector to help the NHS tackle COVID-19, a small increase on October 2020. R&D and the rollout of vaccines and treatments, effective supply chain management and the provision of diagnostic material are top of mind. Agreement has significantly increased in most cases.

The majority of HCPs agree pharmaceutical companies are doing all they can to support each group. Agreement has significantly increased across most groups.

HCPs note the sector’s continued effective communications with them, making best use of virtual tools and webinars to help support HCPs where they can. While previously, personalised offers of support was more top of mind for this group, the industry’s efforts on R&D has become much more prominent and further raised the profile of, and positivity towards, pharmaceutical companies.

Their R&D is pretty top-notch worldwide really, so they’ve got a good reputation for doing focussed R&D that yield positive results. There are loads of new drugs that have come out of the UK over the years, so the R&D side is very good. GP
