Reputation – HCPs: Overview

Pharmaceutical companies operating in the UK continue to enjoy a strong reputation among HCPs

Pharmaceutical companies remain among the most well known, favourably regarded and trusted organisations/sectors measured in our Index.

While familiarity with pharmaceutical companies remain high, with around seven in ten HCPs saying they know at least a fair amount about them, the recent spotlight hasn’t led to an increase of in-depth familiarity with the sector. Nevertheless, HCPs are more likely to hold a favourable opinion of pharma companies than in October 2020, with over seven in ten holding a favourable opinion of them.

Almost seven in ten HCPs also say they have become more positive towards the sector since the outbreak of COVID-19, a considerably higher proportion compared to October 2020 (40%).

Pharmaceutical companies in the UK remain the third most trusted organisations by HCPs, only behind Universities that conduct research and Health charities.

Trust continues to be underpinned by the personal experiences of healthcare professionals. HCPs also speak positively about the sector’s innovation and R&D activity, as well as its commitment to rigorous ethical, quality, and safety standards.
