MPs believe that the pharmaceutical sector makes a significant, positive  contribution to the UK

Because they are a significant net contributor to UK growth, UK tax revenue and jobs, and during COVID, they were at the forefront of the global battle. Conservative Backbencher

The successful development of COVID-19 vaccines has boosted the sector’s reputation in the House. Eight in ten see the sector as a ‘force for good’. There is also a belief that it has world-leading R&D and makes a strong contribution to the job market and economy in the UK.

However, there has been a decline in the view that pharmaceuticals make a positive contribution to social challenges and issues. This is mostly due to an increase of neutral views rather than disagreement.
